Carbonate-hosted galena-baryte deposit, explored from several mines most of which are abandoned.
The ore zones do not follow bedding or schistosity planes, and the fault-controlled nature of the mineralization clearly supports an epigenetic origin. According to, barium and lead were leached from Ordovician–Triassic basement rocks by deeply circulating meteoric waters during post-Triassic time, while barium and sulfur may have been mobilized from basement rocks by shallower heated fluids.
