The collecting site (indicated as "Solaro 3" in Baldissone, 2008) is located about 2 kilometers from Solaro at 1132 m a.s.l. Follow the 5-km-long road Ferriere-Solaro, enter the village until you reach the cemetery, and continue for 2 km before the picnic area, turn left. You cannot miss the rock made of red chert (jasper) visible from the road.
Minerals are found in an isolated red chert (jasper) rock.
