An area named by Petrocarb Exploration NL in the early 1970's, covering exploration in the Hanlon's Reward mine area, but outside specifically of this mine. Petrocarb named various areas in and surrounding the Jervois J shaped syncline from Pioneer A in the north to Pioneer J in the south.
It found a lead prospect half a mile north-east of the airstrip in an epidote skarn outcrop (in another section it states the outcrop is diopside-garnet skarn), in impure limestone altered to skarn and marble. This occurred for 600 feet, with intermittent scheelite mineralisation, with further scheelite outcrops half a mile to the north. The company conducted 205 feet of costeaning, and three shallow drill holes. It further stated most calc-silicate outcrops in the area south and east of the syncline carried scheelite, and minor copper to varying degrees.
