Želešice is a municipality and village in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,800 inhabitants.

Želešice lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) south of Brno and 190 km (118 mi) south-east of Prague.

Active quarry in amphibolite body in the Brno Massif.
Mining originally started at the opposite side of the valley, abandoned in the mid-1980s.
A new quarry was established in the late 1960s, with a maximum production of about 1 200 kt per year, now 650 kt per year.

Zeolites appear in veinlets usually a few mm thick, so crystals reach only 1-2 mm in length.

NOTE: Entrance to the quarry is prohibited without permission.
