A gold mine SW of the Knob Hill Mine. It worked a 4' quartz vein in porphyritic latite porphyry. The vein is composed of fine-grained banded quartz and 10-30% calcite. Development started in 1898 and includes a 300' shaft, winze, and drifts on 3 levels. It produced $65,000 up to 1910; during 1909-1915, 1918, 1933, 1949, and 1950. Total production is listed as being 90,000 tons of ore at 0.37 oz/ton gold and 2.43 oz/ton silver.
Tectonics: Epithermal Deposits Of The Republic District Are Found In The Eocene Sanpoil Volcanics. (See Republic District For Additional Details.)

Deposit: Host rocks for gold deposits of the republic district are dacite and andesite flows, flow breccias, tuffs, and tuff breccias of the eocene sanpoil volcanics (muessig, 1967, p. 50-51; tschauder, 1989, p. 242). ; info.src : 1 pub lit

Development: ECON.COM: PRODUCED $65,000 UP TO 1910; PRODUCED DURING 1909-1915, 1918, 1933, AND 1950 (HUNTTING, 1956, P. 118).

Ore(s): Mineralization Consists Of A 4-Ft-Wide Quartz Vein In Propylitic Latite Porphyry. The Vein Is Composed Of Fine-Grained Banded Quartz And 10%-30% Calcite. The Vein Is Said To Extend The Length Of The Claim (Huntting, 1956, P. 118). (See Republic District For Additional Details.)
