Eclogites lenses and metagabbros, hosted by laminated amphibolites within an inhomogeneous amphibolite complex that forms a roughly EW-trending body of about 12 km in length, crossing the Ötz valley south of Längenfeld and running along the south side of the Sulz valley. Most of the eclogites and metagabbros have been subjected to retrograde metamorphism and frequently show widespread replacement by amphibolites along cracks and margins.
