Pyrope locality. Pipes of basalts with abundant mantle xenoliths.
Situated ~70 km ESE from Tariat city on the bank of Chulutiingol river (Chulutu River).
The volcanic rocks of the field comprise lava flows cut by sills, dikes and stocks up to 100m or more in diameter. The flows are of Pliocene. Pleistocene and Holocene age and the Holocene flows, which are concentrated at the western end of the field range from 3 to 5 m in thickness and comprise leucite basanites and tephrites, potassic hawaiites and augitites (Whirford-Stark 1987).

Geochronology
Mineralization age: Pleistocene : 1.2 ± 0.3 Ma to 0.42 MaImportant note: This table is based only on rock and mineral ages recorded on mindat.org for this locality and is not necessarily a complete representation of the geochronology, but does give an indication of possible mineralization events relevant to this locality. As more age information is added this table may expand in the future. A break in the table simply indicates a lack of data entered here, not necessarily a break in the geologic sequence. Grey background entries are from different, related, localities.
