Coulées de lave basaltiques, Vallée de Reyran, Fréjus, Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France

Several lava flows in the Reyran valley, at the south of the Malpasset site, and in the north of the city of Frejus. Lava often contains mineralised vugs.
Richest spot is seated in the west of the lava flows, at the place where the highway cuts the outcrop. The synchysite-(Ce) was found near the Reyran river.

Confusion must not be done with the formations containing the "lithophyses" (particulary well colorated chalcedony). Althought they can be found in the same geographical area, the context is different (rhyolitic lava flows) - see attached geolocical map http://www.mindat.org/photo-577889.html
