Michael Bainbridge, March, 2010

Most (if not all) of the material from the "Hunter property" was brought out by George Thompson and Frank Melanson (as a team, not individually). Knowing those two, I'm sure they had it analyzed. My concern however is that I've seen so many variations of potassian-fluororichterite, potassic-richterite, potassic-fluororichterite, etc... on the various labels of this material, and there have been so many nomenclature changes and confusion recently, I'd want to see a microprobe analysis before I'd be confident calling it anything

"I understand that [the Hunter property] is on the private lot, to the west of the Millar mine, north of the road. I use Millar mine to refer to the actual workings and dumps to the south of Gibson's Road, and "Gibson's East" to refer to the collecting area up the hill to the north of the road (lot 14, both). The two sides of the road (or swamp) are distinct enough occurrences in my mind to justify separate names and references. To my knowledge, potassium and fluorine bearing richterite (regardless of the exact percentages) has only been identified from the Hunter property."

George Thompson, March, 2010

"The material was analyzed by Joe Mandarino years ago. I would call the material from this locality Potassian Fluorrorichterite but material from even a short distance away may be different. In fact, less than 50 meters away is a hole that produced predominately pyroxene, a totally different mineral group."

The Millar's Mine and Gibson's Road East occurrence are both in the south half of Lot 14, Conc. 11. The next property over is in Lot 13 which may be where the Hunter Property is located. The coordinates given are for the south half of Lot 13, but are not necessarily the exact location of occurrence. It is my best guess (Reiner Mielke Jan 18/2014).
