An old tin mine, located on the eastern slopes of Caer Bran. The sett contains three lodes, which trend NW, NE and SE, respectively. The NW-trending lode was not worked; it represents the southerly extension of the lode that was worked by Caer Bran Mine just north of the summit of the hill. The NE-trending lode was explored through six shafts in a line west to NE of Boswarthen hamlet. Another three shafts further east opened up the SE-trending lode. The coordinates mark a place where an engine house ruin is indicated on the Ordnance Survey map of 1887, but this has not survived.
Under the name Penzance Consols, the mine produced 10 tons of black tin between 1853 and 1854.
