A small mine, located somewhere north of Watergate Bay. However, there are no workings visible along the cliff between Watergate Bay and Trevarrian, and there are also no workings indicated in this area on the 1906 Ordnance Survey map, which is based on a survey in 1879. Tregurrian Mine was worked in 1836, and Wheal Spry is recorded as having produced copper and lead in 1850.
According to Hamilton Jenkin, Tregurrian Mine and Wheal Spry were likely the same mine. In an earlier working, Wheal Spry was pumped by a water wheel, the pit of which was still visible in 1956 on the south bank of Watergate stream (now built over by a car park), making it very likely that the mine was located nearby. Hamilton Jenkin also suggests, that this mine may have been associated with the gunnis on a SE-trending lead lode that is recorded by Dines as being located "about half a mile SW of Trevarrian".
The coordinates mark Watergate bay.
