There are a number of small abandoned mines and prospects on the slopes of Carbine Hill, the largest is the Carbine mine or Great Northern Ck mine.
It produced ores rich in: Bismuthinite; Chalcopyrite; Galena; Jamesonite; Sphalerite; Tetrahedrite, Arsenopyrite; Pyrite; Quartz; Siderite, in veins in mafic, ultramafic and acid igneous and sedimentary rocks. Two adits, two shafts, two open cuts and some trenches were reported, and mostly worked in about the 1890’s.
