Altered rock-type gold deposit.

The ore-hosting rocks in this area are predominantly Precambrian metasedimentary rocks and Caledonian granitic rocks. Two hydrothermal mineralization stages (reserves > 41.5 t tonnes, average grade of 3.5 g/t) can be distinguished: a quartz-sericite-pyrite-native gold (stage I) and a chlorite-quartz-sericite-chalcopyrite-electrum (stage II), with hydrothermal monazite and rutile are firstly identified in separate stages.
The Hebaoshan gold deposit contains a total of 64 gold ore bodies, which are classified into three mineralized zones. The Ore belt-I, situated in the central-western part of the deposit, exhibits a general NE trend with a length exceeding 1 km and a width of approximately 120–200 m. It trends at 35–55° with a southeast orientation and dips between 35 and 80°. The Ore belt- II, located in the central part of the mining area, trends NW (310–330°) with a northeast orientation and dips at angles ranging from 32 to 70°. It spans over 1 km with a width of 10–200 m. The Ore belt- III, found in the southern part of the mining area and influenced by SN-trending faults, has a length exceeding 500 m and a width of 5–35.7 m. It trends at 345–25° with an east orientation and dips at angles between 30 and 50°. The gold mineralization is primarily associated with the contact zones between the Changxing intrusion and its surrounding rocks. The mineralization is significantly controlled by fault structures, with alteration-related mineralization being predominant. Within the mineralized zones, the main ore bodies are designated as Au5 in belt I, Au4 in belt II, and Au8 in belt III. The average grades of these zones range from 1.46 to 16.74 g/t, 3.10 to 8.83 g/t, and 6.98 g/t, respectively.
