A large open cut working Stonyfell Quartzite formation. First worked in the 1890's, by 1956 there were 6 main quarries of which this was one. Worked slowed by 1956 due to the excessive height of the working faces. Production of construction materials from 1977-2009 was estimated at 8 million tonnes.
An access road adjoins the Riverview Dolomite Quarry.
This site is a working quarry (2012) and all access is prohibited.
