Copper mineralisation discovered in 1904, the original mining period taking place between 1906-1920. Ore from Wee Macgregor was carted via a tramway through Heightville to Ballara, from where the ore was sent by rail to the Kuridala smelter. The mine was worked later via in situ acid leaching in the 1970's.
