The Kattumunnur Mine is a Quarry which is located close to the tiny hamlet Kattumunnur which is a part of Munnur Village, Pugalur Taluk in Karur District in the State of Tamil Nadu in South India. It is 26 kms from the town of Karur.
These are several dozens of privately owned mines in a 10 square kms area, operating mainly for Basalt which is used for building and construction purposes.
The quarry closest to the hamlet of Kattumunnur was called the Kattumunnur Mine which was previously mistaken as Kakamunurle Mine.
There was a typo or misunderstanding with the name which was previously posted as Kakamunurle Mines. There is no such Mining Area or Location that exists in Karur District.
