A prospect located in the W 1/2 of Section 14. T49N, R28W.

The Central Section 14 prospect consists of several trenches and a test shaft. The test shaft is located on a quartz vein hosted in sheared altered basalts adjacent to a rhyolite. The trenches are found along the quartz vein and in altered basalts. These are apparently the explorations of the Chippewa Silver Mining Company, which owned the W 1/2 of section 14, T49N-R28W during the 1864 silver boom. It's located within the Ishpeming Greenstone belt (Marquette Greenstone belt).
