Abandoned quarry in granite, worked for dimension stones used for buildings until the end of the second world war. The granite exposed in the quarry is of an intermediate type between the coarse-grained biotite granite occurring in the eastern part of the St Austell district, and the biotite-deficient granites in the west.
This site is an SSSI. Hammering is not allowed here.
