Otov is a village and municipality (obec) in Domažlice District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic.

The municipality covers an area of 7.09 square kilometres (2.74 sq mi).

Otov lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) north-west of Domažlice, 48 km (30 mi) south-west of Plzeň, and 132 km (82 mi) south-west of Prague.

The surroundings of the village of Otov are rich in pegmatite veins - more than 100 veins were described in the pegmatite area Poběžovice-Meclov-Otov (Poběžovicko-Meclovský pegmatitový okrsek - by Vejnar 1965).

Spar from pegmatites was mined in Otov from the 16th century for local glassworks. In the 1850's spar from Otov and Meclov was supplied to porcelain factories in České Budějovice and Wien. Prosperity from mining allowed for the development of the region: in 1880 a spar mill was built in Meclov and in 1910 railway from Poběžovice to Tachov and Domažlice was built.

The mining companies in the region in the 1st half of 20th century:

- Drechsler brothers,
- Meindler consortium,
- Union
- Orthoklas
- after the nationalization in 1946: České živcové závody to 1950
- then Západočeské továrny kaolínové a šamotové to 1957,
- then Chlumčanské keramické závody to the 1960's.

Yearly production from 1900 to 1960 was 12,000-30,000 tons of spar.

Important pegmatite sites mined around Otov:

- Mine Otov I - SW slope of the Větrný vrch (Fučná, Futschaberg, Windy hill) NE from Otov Mine had 4 floors and depth to 50m.

- Mine and quarry Kaasplatte and mine Vyhlídka (Viewpoint) - S slope of Větrný vrch.

- Mine Otov II - vein in fields SW of Otov.

- Quarry Na pláních - next to the Otov II mine.

- Červený vrch - E of Otov.

In 2009 and 2010, all mining remains on Větrný vrch were fenced and closed by a state conservation effort undertaken by the company Průzkum Příbram s.r.o.
