Witter Mine.
This small calamine deposit was located in the same geological context as the neighbouring deposits of Pandour (in the west) and Nouvelle Espérance (part N of the Saint-Paul mine, east).
Located in the Viséen limestone, at the juxtaposition of two synclines in a faulted anticline zone, which puts the Viséen limestone in the south in contact with the Namurian sandstones and shales in the north.
Its dimensions are around 50 m (SW-NE), 20 m (SE-NW), and 5 m thick. It was exposed on the Paleozoic surface under barely a few meters of post-Paleozoic tabular terrain. They operated superficially, between -4 and -10 m.
Exploitation was carried out between 1896 and 1898, in 2 m increments in descending order.
Production figures are lacking.
Rather than an indication of a real deposit by its volume, this settlement should be seen as an annex to the Pandour deposit.
