Tin and rare metal belt, located in the eastern segment of the Gangdese magmatic arc (Chayu-Tengchong granite belt). It is composed of two large tin deposits (Lailishan and Xiaolonghe), one large rare-metal deposit (Baihuanao), five medium-sized tin deposits and nearly one hundred mineralized occurrences. The reserve of Rb in the rare metal deposits is significant, accounting for about one third of the world's total Rb reserves. Significant amounts of Cs, Li, Ta, Sc, and Y are also present. Deposits in the belt are of various genetic types, but are all related to Late Cretaceous to Early Tertiary granitoids.
