2.5 miles NE of Wendron on Medlyn Moor just west of the village of Carnkie. Country rock granite. Several lodes occur in the sett coursing about E.30deg N. Chief lodes are No.1 South, No.1 North, No.2 North, New North and Great North. Only record of output for this mine is 80 tons of black tin between 1847 and 1880 (H.G. DINES).

Medlyn Moor Mine was formerly an important stream ground which was developed underground from 1846 with the aid of a waterwheel that was used to sink a shaft 10 fathoms deep. 15 tons of tin were returned, but problems keeping the workings free of water resulted in the erection of a 30" steam engine in 1846 which continued in use until 1854 when the mine closed, but recommenced in 1873 when the existing engine house was built to accommodate a 40" engine. The mine finally closed in 1879.

Site visited by B. Millington on 15th April 2011, The Engine shaft Engine house is on private land behind a locked gate. Apart from a grassy area around the Engine house, which has been converted crudely into a hay store, the site is massively overgrown with no scope for collecting.
