Ysterputz Blue Lace Agate mine
Hydrothermal vein deposit within a shear zone and associated fractures in a Jurassic dolerite sill that intruded a Permian marine deposit.
Blue lace agate was mined from the 1970s to 2017.
Cubic chalcedony pseudomorphs, originally thought to be after fluorite, are probably after melanophlogite (Welman-Purchase et al., 2024).
Located in Southern Karas Region, 80 km north of Noordoewer, owned by George Swanson.
