Mining in the Sauschwart Fundgrube area has been documented since the end of the 15th century. From the middle of the 18th century, the mine developed into one of the most important facilities in the district. Bismuth ores were mined in the day shaft of the Sauschwart mine until 1929. Above the shaft is the cowhouse with an extension in which a converted winding machine from 1949 is housed. Other existing buildings include the Huthaus, built in 1835, and the Steigerhaus (1837). The mouth of the Erbstollen, whose construction began in 1487, has also been preserved. The Schachtkaue is developed for tourism.
