Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Little Chief Mine, Little Chief Peak,

The Little Chief is located on the SE side of Williamson Creek, near Little Chief Peak. Mineralization occurs in a skarn along the side of a deep gully. It was developed by two adits, the lower 410' long and the upper 145' long. There is no production credited to the deposit, but it does have an unusual amount of nickel and cobalt for the area.
Tectonics: Cascade Volcanic Arc

Deposit: Presence of co and ni suggest a magmatic segregation in rocks of eastern melange belt ( but geologic map does not indicate ultramafic rocks in area) overprinted with vein deposits

Deposit type: Polymetallic veins

Geology: Deposit consists of quartz veins along fractures in quartzite and conglomerate. Other rocks in the vicinity include greenstone, schist, and amphibolite
