Bugeye is a historic gold mine, approximately 100 kilometres north-west of Perenjori, 40 kilometres south of the Golden Grove Mine, and directly south of a hill called Chulaar. The assumption is it was named after the look on the face of its discoverer. This was probably a historic site from the early 20th century, however no historic information could be found for the location. Fred Rose confirms he visited the old mine site in the 1970's to go rock fossicking. It was subsequently developed as an open pit by Gindalbie Gold NL from 2001 to 2006. It was then acquired by Monarch Gold Mining, Golden Stallion Resources and in 2010 by the Shandong Tianye Group.
Monarch Mining estimates the resource as 355 800 tonnes at a grade of 2.0g/t with 23 200 ounces of gold.
