Arguably the most scenic of Western Australia's mineral locations. From the deposit are extensive views along the coast and inland across mangrove swamps to hills.
Cleaverville is 27 kilometres northwest of Roebourne. At the boat ramp, walk north up to the saddle between two hills. There are two deposits within 50 metres of each other. In the northernmost, the turquoise is associated with an iron-stained matrix. As is typical with Australian turquoise, the material is powdery rather than gemmy.
