The King Mine and the neighbouring Gath's Mine are located in the Mashava Igneous Complex.

Stockworks of chrysotile seams occur in two fibre bodies in serpentinized dunite.

The main ore body is pear-shaped in plan and dips steeply north.

Production of both mines is estimated at > 1,300,000 t since 1913.
