The Shire of Quairading is 170 kilometres east of Perth, covers an area of approximately 2,018 square kilometres, and has a population just in excess of 1,100.
Quairading's economy is based on cereal growing/sheep, and consequently the shire is rolling wheat fields. Attractions include walks in nature reserves in spring, visiting local granite monoliths, and other escapades where you want a place to yourself.
There are few specimen locations in the shire, but it was the site of the first meteorite discovery in Western Australia.
