33 Gold mines/claims in 1998.
Main primary deposits divided in three areas:
- Area 1 (nowdays, in the Paranaíta municipality): Valdomiro, Grota Rica, Buriti, Mandioca and Arara claims
- Area 2 = Mogno farm (Alta Floresta municipality): Rato claim
- Area 3 (Alta Floresta municipality): Serrinha and Pé de Fora claims
The Alta Floresta Gold Province (AFGP), a WNW–ESE-trending auriferous belt more than 500 km long defined on metallogenic grounds; within the geochronological–tectonic framework of the craton, it corresponds to the Peixoto de Azevedo domain of the Tapajós–Parima Province. The AFGP is composed mainly of Paleoproterozoic plutono–volcanic sequences emplaced between ca. 2.03 and 1.75 Ga into an older metamorphic–granitic basement. These rocks include I-type granitic to granodioritic plutons, felsic to intermediate volcanic and volcaniclastic units, and associated volcano-sedimentary successions, locally overlain by Mesoproterozoic to Phanerozoic cover.
