Natural limestone cave
Period: Bronze Age
Description: A large cave accessed by a steep ramp that ends at a bifurcation leading to a gallery. No evidence of archaeological remains is visible, but in certain areas, particularly on the ceiling of one chamber, there are abstract rock engravings arranged in a chaotic manner. These include curved and angular motifs, ladder-like patterns, broken, parallel and intersecting lines, zigzags, and irregular signs. Overall, these panels of abstract rock art are similar to those found in the cave of Atapuerca (Burgos, Spain).
Access: Near the road from Vale de Vargo to Moura, 4 km southwest of Sobral da Adiça.
