A feldspar quarry near the small lake Fjellsvann worked on a granite pegmatite and owned by Mr. Julius Smidt of Arendal in the 1880-90s. Friis (1891), who visited the pegmatite, described it as a large open pit, 60 to 70m long, 15-16 m broad and 9 m deep. In 1891 it had produced about 1000 barrels of feldspar. The quarry is known to have produced good crystals of thorite in the 1880s.

Possible the quarry mentioned by Weierholt (1959) and named as "Grassåsgruva". Grassås is located just west of the small lake Fjellsvann.
The corroordinates are for the lake, Fjellsvann (58.58288°N 8.81343°E).
