A scheelite deposit worked from 1908-1918. Located 2.5 miles WSW of the Moose River Gold Mine. A mill was built in 1911 (Camsell 1917). The source of the scheelite mineralization has been investigated by Cove et al. (2017).

Mineral List

10 valid minerals. 1 erroneous literature entry.

Detailed Mineral List:

ⓘ Ankerite ?
Formula: Ca(Fe2+,Mg)(CO3)2
Description: A note on ankerite: Recent redefinitions of the ankerite-dolomite series mean that many samples that would have been classified as ankerite would now be defined as dolomite (iron-rich dolomite) and true ankerite is quite rare. See a discussion here https://www.mindat.org/mesg-7-430792.html. XRD is not suitable for identification of ankerite. 'Ankerites' microprobed by, for example Fisher (1984), are what is now defined as dolomite.
ⓘ Arsenopyrite
Formula: FeAsS
ⓘ Calcite
Formula: CaCO3
ⓘ Dolomite
Formula: CaMg(CO3)2
ⓘ 'Mica Group'
ⓘ Muscovite
Formula: KAl2(AlSi3O10)(OH)2
ⓘ Pyrite
Formula: FeS2
ⓘ Rutile
Formula: TiO2
ⓘ Scheelite
Formula: Ca(WO4)
ⓘ Sperrylite ?
Formula: PtAs2
ⓘ 'Tourmaline'
Formula: AD3G6(T6O18)(BO3)3X3Z
Description: Reported by early authors. Testing by Miller (1974) showed that the mineral was in fact rutile. This was confirmed by Fisher (1984).
ⓘ Tungstite
Formula: WO3 · H2O
