Mineral Hill was mined for copper and gold from the late nineteenth century, however modern mining operations commenced at Mineral Hill mine from 1987, as the Triako open cut. The average head grade of mining at Mineral Hill when operated by Triako was 9.1g/t and at times one ounce of gold per tonne.
