A manganese deposit that was first discovered in 1960 by P. Lenkchevitch, a UN geologist.
In 2015, the deposit was being developed by British company Ferrex Plc.
Resources are estimated to be in the order of 11.0Mt @13.1% Mn.
The manganese-rich layer overlies sandstones of the Bombouaka Group and is itself overlain by an up to 1 m thick layer of clay.
