Type:
Köppen climate type:
A sheared metabasalt sequence with some BIF horizons, and lesser tectonic hornblende schist and porphyry dykes/sills. The gold in the sheared portions of the metabasalt is associated with biotite schist and porphyry intrusions.
The gold is found in three parallel narrow quartz veins in a thick metabasalt unit adjacent to and parallel to the contact with a large porphyry sill that intrudes the metabasalt. Quartz sulphide veins dip steeply south-east.
