Carbonaceous chondrite (CK4; S1; W4)
Find, 2001; 198 g

During an exploration mission a small dark brown stone was found still largely covered by its now weathered fusion crust. With a hand lens, both chondrules and angular CAI can be observed in a dark, greenish matrix. Chondrules (20 vol%) range from .4—2 mm in diameter and are mostly olivine-rich (POP & PO [80%]). Pyroxene (enstatite) and albitic plagioclase are also conspicuous upon further inspection. A few rare sulfides, mostly pyrrhotite, are found in matrix. Rare kamacite and moncheite also found.

CK (Karoonda-like) carbonaceous chondrites are one of 8 currently recognized chemical groups of carbonaceous chondrites. The CK chondrites are distinguished by fine-grained matrix (~75 vol%), mm-sized chondrules, and a high degree of oxidation. Like HaH 337, almost all CK chondrites have been metamorphosed to petrologic grade 4 or higher,
