Ureilite, primitive achondrite (olivine-pigeonite lithology)
Find, 2004; 5.08 kg, 52 pieces

52 pieces of a weathered meteorite were found in the desert, but some pieces still retained their fusion crust. The meteorite consists largely of coarse-grained metamorphosed olivine (Fo86) and pigeonite ( En83Wo5). Large silicate inclusions are found in the groundmass. Large pyroxene grains contain minor augite and feldspathic glass. Carbon-rich materials, including graphite and diamond, account for nearly 3 vol% of the meteorite. Chromite, two populations of troilite, Fe-metal, and iron oxide weatherates are also present in very minor quantities.

It has been suggested that the microdiamonds of JaH 054 were generated by pre-terrestrial shock, but that JaH 054 nanodiamonds were formed by vapor deposition (also very early during the preterrestrial epoch).
