Newhaven is a small abandoned open pit, approximately 60 kilometres north-west of Coolgardie, and 10 kilometres east of Dunnsville, on the Dunnsville-Kintore Road. The pit borders the southern side of the road. The Bacchus Gift and Newminster open pits are a few hundred metres to the north-west.
Underground mining first started here in the 1930's. Barminco developed the open pit in the mid 1990's and then also 1999. They obtained 41 974 tonnes of ore at 3.90 g/t Au yielding 5260 ounces of gold. Low grade stockpiles at Newhaven were also treated yielding a further 3823 ounces.
