The mine is about 25 kilometres south of Marvel Loch, and just east of the Marvel Loch-Forrestania Road.

The deposit was discovered, and mine developed by J. Quinlan in 1915. He passed away in March 1921. The mine was then taken up by Frank Snook in 1922. Specimen stone was displayed by Snook in Perth of quartz covered in gold. The King of Creation Company took out a 12 month working option over the mine in 1924, but abandoned it after only two months, without conducting any work on the deposit.

Figures to this point were 3016 tonnes for 2811.90 ounces of gold at 18.64 dwt.

Later in 1924, the mine is being operated by Peter Simpson and R.R. Andrews. Crushings are found by them in 1925.

Around 1928, the Polson brothers were taking out ore, and some crushings are found for the next two years under their name.

Embleton, Hart and Dowding sent through a crushing in November 1933. The now disturbingly named Abo Gold Exploration and Floatation Ltd took out an option over the mine in 1935.

W.E. Mole un-watered the shaft, and took out a couple of crushings in 1939. In 1941, the Williams brothers had sunk a new shaft but crushings were not found.

The mine is 4 kilometres south of the Buffalo prospect. When explored by Gondwana around 2009, they report the mine contained a modern headframe, from underground mining in 1984, with stoping to 35 metres deep. There are also two de-watering bores. Sons of Gwalia explored the site in the late 1990's. The site contains 7 historic shafts.
