Detailed Mineral List:

ⓘ Calcite
Formula: CaCO3
Habit: No crystal structure noted. Specimen massive with rhombohedral cleavage planes apparent to naked eye and with 10x magnification
Colour: Translucent white (some smaller rhombs are mostly transparent when broken)
Fluorescence: No testing done
Description: Specimen Type - Massive Lustre - sub-vitreous to vitreous (dull white on weathered surfaces) Color - White Hardness - 3 Streak - white Solubility - Vigorous bubbling with dilute HCl (also effervesces with common vinegar) Cleavage - Perfect Tenacity - Brittle (easily breaks into rhombohedral pieces along cleavage planes)
ⓘ Gypsum
Formula: CaSO4 · 2H2O
Habit: No crystal structure noted
Colour: White to colorless. Dull on weathered surfaces
Fluorescence: No tests performed
Description: Specimen type - massive Lustre - sub-vitreous to vitreous (dull white on weathered surfaces) Color - White (transparent in smaller pieces) Hardness - < 3 Cleavage - perfect (easily breaks into rhombohedral pieces) Solubility - easily soluble in even dilute HCl Other - Distinct sulfur smell during breakage or acid decomposition. Material is seamed within calcite and is notably softer than surrounding calcite
