Monte Rocchetta (La Rocchetta)

Locality on the Tornolo municipal territory along the border with Borzonasca (Metropolitan City of Genoa, Liguria).

The mantle rocks of Mt. Rocchetta are mainly formed by massive peridotites with high degree of serpentinization and local occurrence of metre-sized lenses of relatively fresh peridotites. In places, mafic rocks ranging in composition from olivine-rich gabbro to troctolite intrude the serpentinites.
