The Mighty Atom Gold Mine is three kilometres north of the King of Creation Gold Mine, in turn 50 kilometres north of Laverton. A very small pit exists at the site. The faint track to it from the King of Creation Mine, and poorly preserved state of the pit, indicates it is many decades since mining. It may have been a trial pit during the 1988-1990 development of the King of Creation by Ashton Gold, but confirmation is needed.

Historically, the only activity at the site was found between 1923 to 1924. The deposit was owned by F.W. Brown. Indications are it was newly discovered. Inspector of Mines Greenard visited in August 1923. He states the lode was part of a large hill. The lode trended north-south, and he claimed it was up to 160 feet wide (unlikely). Fine and coarse gold was showing. The lode could be traced for 35 feet across the southern side of the hill, containing numerous quartz veins and irregular values. The only workings were two pot holes on the summit of the hill, which pan tested at 10 dwt.

Almost immediately, Brown optioned the deposit to the South Australian based Muntooroo Company. Some trenches, costeans and a 35 foot shaft was sunk. During the four month period the company produced weekly reports, with wildly exciting information about the prospects of the deposit. It was up to mine manager Edward Allen to deliver the bad news. It was a rich pipe, but not extensive enough as a long term proposition for a company. In 1924, Brown put through a couple of crushings at the Laverton battery, then it is assumed the gold ran out and all fell silent.
