A minor occurrence of tourmaline is found on the north side of the road about 3/4 mile northeast of Springtown. (Quinn 1952)
Euhedral crystals of black tourmaline measuring up to 1.5 inches by 4 inches occur in quartz veins and pegmatite dykelets cutting diorite.
