The Mopoke is a historic lease, amongst several swallowed up by the present large Gimlet South open pit, 500 metres south of Ora Banda. The Mopoke was owned and worked by Samuel Scotson and William O'Brien, from 1922. 24 acres GML 1508W. They sank a new shaft and installed machinery. The ore body trended north-west to south-east, whereas neighbouring mines trended east-west. It is noted in 1935 as being held by a Kalgoorlie syndicate for many years. In this year a company called B.A.N.Z took out an option over the Mopoke and neighbouring to the north Gimlet South leases. The purchase price covering both was 27 500 pounds with 45 000 fully paid shares in the company's subsidiary Ora Banda United Mines, which had been floated in London late 1934 with 400 000 pounds capital.

The Mindat co-ordinates are approximate, and mark the large Gimlet South open pit which swallowed the old workings.
