The mine is on the eastern outskirts of Marble Bar, just north of the entrance road. The mine is quite visible on the hill, with prospectors shack and gold mining equipment. The lease was taken by former Tasmanian dairy farmer, Murray Millwood, who from 2001, restored and re-opened the mine, which originally dated from around 1894.

Originally the leases were Homeward Bound and Homeward Bound Block, which were amalgamated by Tom Robb. Later the Block lease adjacent became the Outward Bound, although less information was found on this.

GML 613. Former GML 579. One large reef trending north-south, with an east-west arm, and flat dip.

Tom Robb was first noted at the mine in 1894, and appears a constant until 1920, with regular crushings. At various points other parties are mentioned, either tributers or partners with Robb. Wright 1901, W. Ridgeway 1902 and 1903, Cooper and Hedditch 1909 and 1910, Newport several dates early 1900's, Ayre 1913, Parola 1915, J. Cotton 1917.

From the early 1920's, the Outward Bound name appears, operated by the Snell brothers, E. & M. Snell. In 1936, Rex Moore sold the Homeward Bound to F. Reicke and J. Spiers. Meanwhile the Snell brothers sold the Outward Bound to S. Phelps and J. Hills, and left for Queensland.

The old workings were being drained in 1952, but no more information was found. In 1979, Melbourne based Consolidated Exploration Limited drilled three holes on the reef recovering gold.
