A Pb-Zn occurrence/mine located along Silver Creek, on private land. Discovered in 1890. Owned by Dr Osborne. Operated by Frank Pavitte Mining Company (1930-). The USGS MRDS database stated accuracy for this locality is 100 meters.

Mineralization is a base metals deposit (Mineral occurrence model information: Model code: 224; USGS model code: 32a; BC deposit profile: E12; Deposit model name: Mississippi Valley, S.E. Missouri Pb-Zn; Mark3 model number: 42), hosted in Late Cambrian sandstone and limestone of the Wilburns Formation. Controls for ore emplacement included a solution collapse breccia near the pinch-out of the Late Cambrian sediments against Precambrian granite (Paleohigh). Mineralization extends outward from the solution collapse structure at least 140 feet in Welge Sandstone and at least 30 feet in Morgan Creek Limestone. Local rocks include rocks of the Riley Formation showing Lion Mountain Sandstone and Cap Mountain Limestone members, undivided; Tanyard Formation.

Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 7.92 meters (25 feet), and comprised of 2 shafts, adits, open cuts and diamond and churn drill holes. One shaft is 65 feet deep. A crosscut was driven 7 feet NW and 18 feet from mone adit, 30 feet in from the portal. Drilled by Eagle-Picher in 1925. An old mill is located on the site.

Production statistics: Year: 1930 (concentrates - accurate): ^66.45% Pb from 736 short tons of ore.

Analytical data results: up to 5.47% Pb and 1.00% Zn.
