The Kuiperberg (Lower Saxon: Kupersbearg) is a 71 meter (according to the National Triangle Measurement) high hill in the municipality of Dinkelland in the Dutch province of Overijssel. The top of the Kuiperberg is just west of Ootmarsum.
The Kuiperberg is part of the moraine that stretches from Ootmarsum to Uelsen in Germany. Other hills of this moraine are the Braamberg (76 m) and further north the Overijsselse Galgenberg (68 m). The highest point is the Poascheberg (Paasberg) (89 m), located just across the border, not to be confused with the Paasberg (80 m) on the moraine of Oldenzaal.
The moraine complex of Ootmarsum and Uelsen was created during the Saale glaciation. The land ice here has pushed aside the then frozen subsoil, consisting of Tertiary marine sediments and Pleistocene deposits, and stacked it like large scales on top of each other like roof tiles. Much of the Pleistocene deposits have been eroded, leaving Tertiary material today at or near the surface. The lateral moraine is recognizable in the landscape as high and lower hill complexes, intersected by several well-developed valleys. The complex is intact and very representative of the glacial landscape in the Netherlands, and is therefore of great geological and geomorphological value.
The Jewish cemetery of Ootmarsum, which dates from around 1786, is located on the Kuiperberg.
On top of the Kuiperberg is a monument in the form of an ANWB direction table or orientation table. This monument is a reminder of the federations of the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Toeristenbond ANWB in Twente on 22 and 23 July 1922. The monument also mentions the height: 70 m +AP.
