An iron-gold mine south of Orient. The mine was developed by an open pit, around 1100' of underground workings, and an aerial tramway. It produced ore in 1907-1910, 1913-1917, and 1938-1955. The deposit is a highly weathered contact zone between monazite porphyry and amphibolite. Ore was said to run 33% Fe, 12% S, 10% CaO, 30% SiO2, 0.3% Cu, 0.05 to 0.1 oz/ton Au, and trace Ag.
