Located about 15 kilometres south south-west of Old Halls Creek. Take the track south of this location which goes around the back of Lake Monte Gordon. At about 10 kilometres the track swings from heading south to south-east. A track diverges here travelling west, then south-west. After about 5 kilometres it reaches the 44 Gallon Drum site, a small alluvial gold area. Some bulldozing has taken place. Several exploration tracks head off in different directions from the site. Alluvial gold is found in a north-south trending gully a few hundred metres west of the intersection. The site name has been arbitrarily given by the writer, based on Doug Stone's map mentioning a 44 gallon drum as a reference point for the otherwise un-named area. More information needed.
